Welcome
to the official Web site celebrating the career, accomplishments and
tribute plans for Shenandoah University President James A. Davis and
his wife Janet Davis, who will retire on June 30, 2008, after completing
26 years of service to the institution. During his tenure as president,
Davis worked closely with the university’s board of trustees to execute
institutional growth in a variety of areas, from increasing enrollment
from 874 students to more than 3,000 full-time students, to adding undergraduate
programs while establishing graduate programs in eight key academic
areas, building the endowment from $750,000 to nearly $50 million, adding
15 buildings, and generally expanding the university’s reputation, vision,
mission and service throughout the region and beyond.
