Important Dates and Timeline

  • January 1 – The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available to submit for the upcoming academic year. It is strongly recommended that everyone fills out a FAFSA.

  • March 15 - By now, our office has begun to award students for the upcoming fall term. Have you completed the FAFSA , Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant , and/or Virginia Conference United Methodist Scholarship [Methodist Scholarship Appl.doc] applications yet?

  • April 15 - Federal income taxes due by this date. If you originally filled out your FAFSA using estimated tax return information, you may want to correct your FAFSA using your Student Aid Report (SAR).

  • May 31 – Virginia Conference United Methodist Scholarship application is due to our office.

  • June 1 - If your financial aid does not cover all costs, you should contact the Student Accounts Office to inquire about the Shenandoah University Payment Plan Application Agreement . This program allows you to make 4 equal payments each semester, rather than paying your tuition in full at the beginning of each semester.

  • June 15 - Deferred Payment Plan Application due to Student Accounts Office.

  • July 1 - If you have received all of your financial aid paperwork (award letter, verification forms, loan promissory notes, etc.), have you returned them signed and completed to our office? Please do not delay your financial aid by neglecting to fill out the forms we send you. We never send junk mail!

  • July 31 - Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) application due.

  • August 15 - Fall tuition is due. Any remaining balances, after financial aid is taken into account, needs to be paid by this date.
