School Administration and Supervision

The Master of Science in Education degree is designed to meet the current and changing administrative needs of the public and private schools in Virginia. Key features of the program include:

  • A cohort model that completes in two years
  • An approved licensure program by the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Courses offered on a schedule to accommodate full-time employed teachers and students with families
  • Program built around a useful mix of theory and practice
  • Classes taught by experienced school administrators
  • Fellowships that make the program affordable

New cohorts are established annually in September or at other times as demand occurs. The program operates on a trimester or three-term system. Students take weekly courses from September through July for two years. Most courses are held in a traditional format, meeting weekly in the evenings. Some courses are offered online, and some are offered as a hybrid of a traditional class and coached through independent study. For professionals who already have a master's degree, we offer a certificate program that leads to licensure in Administration and Supervision.
