This semester, the season of symphony revolves around the compositions of Gustav Mahler, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of his birth, and 100th anniversary of his death.

Lutenist, composer and SU alumnus Ronn McFarlane performs Sunday, March 28, at 3 p.m. in Armstrong Concert Hall on main campus. Appearing with McFarlane is Ayreheart, an ensemble created for the sole purpose of playing McFarlane’s original compositions.

Professor of Music Thomas Albert has been named the Charles B. Levitin Endowed Chair in Music Theatre at Shenandoah University. Shenandoah Conservatory Dean Michael Stepniak made the announcement during a faculty meeting on January 25.
