Kendra Whitlock
After a nation-wide search, Kendra Whitlock Ingram has been appointed to the newly created position of managing director at Shenandoah University, reporting to the dean of Shenandoah Conservatory. She will also serve as the new director of the Performing Arts Live concert series.
In this position, Ingram will be responsible for marketing and promoting the 110-plus ticketed events held during each academic year within the university’s major performing arts venues, for building audience bases for performance seasons and artistic series, for further professionalizing all box office and front-of-house operations for ticketed performing arts events, and for further expanding the significance and reach of the Performing Arts Live concert series.
“The search committee and I are delighted with the experience, energy, creativity and dedication that Kendra will bring to this challenging new position,” said Shenandoah Conservatory Dean Michael Stepniak. “The job of creating an increasingly authentic link between the Conservatory’s performance series and the diverse population of Winchester and the northern Shenandoah Valley demands a unique skill set; the ability to build relationships with key and multiple stakeholders throughout the community, a broad knowledge of arts programming, a collaborative spirit, marketing savvy, creative energy, and a true insight into what is profound about arts-centered experiences.
“Kendra is wonderfully positioned to take on this challenge. I look forward to her leadership within the Conservatory in making our artistic programming a truly cherished and significant cultural resource for surrounding communities, and in bringing increasingly cutting-edge artistic performances to the region.”
