Shenandoah Conservatory muscic, theatre, dance
The Criminal Justice Program provides a broad understanding of criminal justice systems and issues to equip students to work in the field and to be better citizens while respecting diverse cultures. Students will experience personal development while committing to leadership and professional service to their communities.
Both in our classes and in the criminal justice club we study issues such as the following: Is capital punishment fair and just? Should local law enforcement be involved in immigration issues? Should we re-examine our controlled substance policies?
The criminal justice student at Shenandoah University will examine the role of law in society. She will study the three subsystems of the justice system: police, courts, and corrections. He will scrutinize criminal justice theories that attempt to explain crime.
Graduates of the Criminal Justice Program are employed in the Border Patrol and other areas of homeland security as well as several local county sheriffs' offices and municipal police departments; local and state correctional facilities and some former students are currently completing graduate work.
