Music with Elective Studies

The Music with Elective Studies program is appropriate for students who have equal interest in music and another field. It offers the same musical underpinning as all of the Conservatory's professional music programs of study, while giving the discerning student a solid foundation in another area of interest. The degree is appropriate preparation for graduate study in such fields as conducting, musicology or music theory, and in the field of the secondary discipline.

The Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Another Discipline curriculum offers students the opportunity to focus in music studies as well as in another field of study, which may include a non-arts related area. The plan for study in the second discipline is developed and approved in advance.

Because of its broad, interdisciplinary nature, the Music with Elective Studies program includes all the professors of the Conservatory and the school of the student's secondary discipline as its major faculty.
