Three post-graduate students from SU's Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy (left to right) Vanessa Taylor, PharmD, Valley Health System; Nony Nwaneri, PharmD, Martinsburg VAMC; and Christina Chang, PharmD, Valley Health System, participated in residences during the 2008/09 academic year.
Shenandoah University’s Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy is pleased to announce that approximately 20 pharmacy graduates have applied for and were matched with fellowship, residency or post-graduate positions this year.
“The number of PharmD graduates participating this year is quite impressive, given that there were record numbers of students applying and the field is quite competitive,”said Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice Mark Johnson, who directs the pharmacy school’s post-graduate education program.
Nationally, about 15 to 20 percent of graduates go on to complete residency programs in pharmacy. From the numbers of students who applied this year, it appears the number of SU pharmacy graduates engaged in residency programs will be slightly above that average.
According to Johnson, graduates apply to their residency of choice, but they have to be selected by that organization. Below is a list of pharmacy graduates who were matched or accepted to the programs of their choices.
