Shenandoah University’s School of Education and Human Development and Office of Admissions will host two open house events for the teacher licensure program. The open houses are scheduled for Monday, April 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Brandt Student Center on the main campus of Shenandoah University in Winchester and Friday, May 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shenandoah University’s Northern Virginia Campus, 44160 Scholar Plaza in Leesburg. Both events are free and open to anyone interested in becoming a teacher.
Faculty from the School of Education and Human Development will be available to talk one-on-one and answer questions concerning teacher licensure during both open houses.
"Obtaining teacher licensure is different for everyone, and there’s no one-size-fits-all model," said Abby Griffeth, director of graduate admissions. "Each person brings something different to the table, but with the right information, you can obtain teacher licensure while you’re working on your current degree or add it in after you’ve graduated. It’s easier to accomplish than you’d think."
