Shenandoah University’s Institute for Government and Public Service will hold its annual Public Service Awards Banquet on Sunday, Oct. 4, in the Ferrari Room of the Brandt Student Center on the university’s main campus. The event will begin with a reception at 4 p.m. followed by dinner at 5 p.m. and a program.
Each year, the Institute for Government and Public Service selects several pubic service leaders, ranging from national to local levels, to honor for their contributions. This year’s honorees include former Virginia Senator John Warner, former Pennsylvania State Senator Terry Punt, Stephens City, Va. Mayor Ray Ewing and retired City of Winchester Administrator Sharon Gromling.
Senator Warner will hold a question and answer session for students during the reception hour. All students are encouraged to attend.
Tickets for the event are $30 per person or $210 for a table of eight. Members of the media covering the event may attend as guests of the institute, but must make a seat reservation. Reservations are requested by September 30.
